We believe our Bed & Breakfast, "The Decoy" is the perfect spot for a truly quick getaway to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Amish Country.

We renovated an Amish farmhouse to offer all the comforts of home. Since we are located just under the second highest point in Lancaster County, you will have an unbelievable vista of lush, Amish farmlands.

If you're a walker, take a stroll around our block! A 50 minute, 2.8 mile adventure. Meet our Amish neighbors, watch them milk the dairy herd; saunter down the road through the woods; see a real "chicken ranch." Look at the horses at the various stables, and maybe meet a member of the Red Rose K-9 Rescue Group.

Are you interested in quilting? Not only do we have at least 6 quilting seminars scheduled spring & fall, we also have a fabric store tour. Quilters and sewers from far and wide have given the tour a thumbs-up review. The stores feature first quality fabrics at bargain prices. Thinking about a sewing machine - we know just the place for you to purchase one.

Our gardens are Hap's pride and joy (if you'd excuse the pun). He started from scratch, as our property formerly housed a sawmill. Each spring there are hundreds of daffodils, tulips and hyacinths. Summer continues with the perennial beds and showcase of a wide variety of flowers. The fields around the house have crops and cows! Even our acre paddock boasts the neighbors cows and workhorses on occasion. (Of course these same visitors have been known to escape and wreak havoc in the gardens.)

We have two cats who will make you feel at home. Tiva (or Grumpy, depending on her mood.) is a seal-point Siamese, and Orphan, an American Brown Tabby. The girls will meet & greet you and take you on a tour of the yard.

Every morning we serve a family style full breakfast with the menu changing daily. However, we not only serve, we also sit down and eat with all of our guests. This gives us a chance to answer the guests questions about the Dutch country, whil providing that down-home family atmosphere.
