Words From Our Pastor

James H. Shanley
Dear Friends:
Down through the centuries the Church has been described in various ways. The Church has been called: The
Temple of God (I Corinthians 3:9-17) and the Bride of Christ (Revelation 21:27). As I look at this web-site,
I'm reminded that we belong to a Family of Belivers (Galations 6:10).
This web-site points to the reality that the Church is people; people whose lives have been changed by the
redeeming grace of Jesus Christ. We have accepted Him as Saviour and Lord. He has accepted us. In and
through Jesus Christ (the head of the Church) we accept each other and thereby become members of a unique
fellowship. The apostle Paul has written "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a
part of it"(I Corinthians 12:27) In this we have a loving concern for each other. "If one member
suffers all suffer together, if one is honored, all rejoice together" (Corinthians 12:26).
As members of this Christian Family we accept the following responsibilities"
- We strive to be faithful participants in worship
- We scatter into the world to bear witness to our faith through service.
- We contribute regularly to the support of the church and its mission as the Lord blesses us.
- We pray regularly for others, the church and ourselves.
We are partners together in the gospel (Philippians 1:3-6) and our grateful for the challenge of
being God's people in today's world.
As you browse through and use this web-site, may this gift serve as a reminder of the Lord's love and
blessing to you and His Church.
In His Service,
Rev. James H. Shanley
